They say you shouldn’t have favourite events, but some just stay with you. The Annual Vet Ball at Wake The Tiger in Bristol is definitely one of them.
This year marked the second time we’ve had the pleasure of catering the event, and once again we loved every minute of it. The energy, the atmosphere, the people. It’s the kind of night that reminds you why working in catering can be so much fun.
Wake The Tiger is already one of Bristol’s most unique venues, but when the Vet Ball takes over, the whole space comes alive. Live bands playing, people dancing, incredible outfits everywhere, and a room full of guests ready to celebrate after a long year of hard work.
The vibes, as always, were well and truly on point.
Wake the Tiger is an immersive art experience in Bristol - basically a massive indoor adventure playground for adults (and kids) that's part art installation, part interactive maze, part sensory trip.
Creating the street food vibe
For this year’s event, we leaned into a grab-and-go street food style, something that suited the atmosphere perfectly.
On the menu:
Falafel pittas - Crispy chickpea falafel, creamy hummus, zingy pickles, tahini
Loaded chicken burritos - Spiced chicken, black beans, fresh salsa, all wrapped up
Loaded brownie pots - fudgy chocolate brownies, salted popcorn and a popping candy twist
TFood that guests could enjoy between catching up with friends, listening to the band, and heading back to the dance floor.
It kept the evening relaxed, social, and full of energy, exactly the kind of atmosphere the organisers wanted to create.
Street food works beautifully for events like this. It gives people the freedom to move around, enjoy the night, and grab something delicious whenever they need it.
A second year to remember
Coming back for a second year always feels special.
There’s something rewarding about building relationships with events and watching them return year after year.
Events like this are a reminder of why catering never feels repetitive.
One day you might be serving a classic sit-down dinner, the next you're creating a lively street food experience in one of Bristol’s most creative venues.
Different spaces.
Different food.
Different energy.
And that’s exactly how we like it.
